One of the many advantages of cycling in Mallorca is the choice of flights. The island is served by Palma Airport, located to the North East of the city of Palma, in the South of the island. With the increase in low cost airlines Mallorca is now well served from virtually every airport in the UK. Below we have listed the airlines that fly to Mallorca and from which UK airports, along with information on transporting your bike if you decide hiring a bike is not for you.

Easyjet fly to Palma from the following UK airports:

  • Belfast International

  • Bristol

  • Edinburgh

  • Glasgow

  • Liverpool

  • London Gatwick

  • London Luton

  • London Stansted

  • London Southend

  • Manchester

  • Newcastle

 

Easyjet charge £30 per flight for taking a bike if checked in online. The price rises to £40 per flight if the bike is checked in at the airport.

Bicycles are permitted for carriage provided that specific criteria is met: 

  • The bicycle must be packaged in a bicycle box or bag 

  • Only one bicycle per box/bag is permitted 

  • The handlebars must be flush with the frame 

  • Pedals must be removed or flush against the flame 

  • No other items can be carried in the bicycle box/bag (i.e. clothing) 

Bicycles with hydraulic suspensions or brake systems will be accepted. 

 

 

Jet 2 fly to Palma from the following UK airports:

  • Belfast

  • Birmingham

  • East Midlands

  • Edinburgh

  • Glasgow International

  • Leeds Bradford

  • London Stansted

  • Manchester

  • Newcastle

 

Jet 2 charge £30 per flight to transport a bike.

Bikes must be wrapped in stiff cardboard or be carried in a bike box. Pedals must be removed and the handlebars must be placed in line with the frame.

The tyres must be deflated slightly.

Ryanair fly to Palma from the following UK airports:

  • Birmingham

  • Bournemouth

  • Bristol

  • East Midlands

  • Edinburgh

  • Glasgow Prestwick

  • Leeds Bradford

  • Liverpool

  • London Stansted

  • Manchester

 

 

Ryanair charge £30 per flight to transport a bike. The bike must be contained in a protective box or protective bike bag in order to be accepted for travel. Electric bicycles cannot be transported by plane. The maximum weight limit for a bike and box/bag is 30kgs.
